The MXGP of Pietramurata Van Horebeek’s last GP for SR Honda – uncertain future

The MXGP of Pietramurata Van Horebeek’s last GP for SR Honda – uncertain future

With Jeremy Van Horebeek’s partner expected to give birth to twins any day now, the Belgian has decided to travel home after the MXGP of Pietramurata. The GP didn’t go according to plan as at the start of the second moto he got stuck in Gajser’s back wheel. The race was red flagged and the Belgian got stretchered off the track but the good news is he was able to walk back to his camper unaided.

Van Horebeek will miss the last round of the series but somethings are more important than Motocross and the birth of your children is certainly one of them!

The Belgian has also revealed that the MXGP of Pietramurata was his last race for the SR Honda team he’s been with the past two years. Before the 2019 season it was even uncertain the team would race MXGP but they stepped up to the plate for Van Horebeek at the last minute.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the Belgian, he’s thought to be actively looking a ride in the GP paddock but if he fails to secure one – will he retire? Who knows at this stage as his future is uncertain, anything can happen but let’s hope we see him back in 2021.

“Tomorrow will be my last mxgp of the 2020 season! You all know that Glenny and I are expecting 2 baby boys and it can be for any day from now because this is something out of our power! I love motocross but this will be a day I can’t miss so it’s time to go home and be ready for the big day! I will give everything I have tomorrow because it will also be my last race with @teamhondasr @josse_sallefranque and I would like to thank Josse, the team, sponsors and everybody supporting us for the past 2 years! What 2021 will bring is really unclear so let’s have a great day tomorrow! Thanks for the support”, Van Horebeek stated on social media.
