Raivo Dankers of the Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing underwent a successful shoulder operation. Dankers sustained an injury right at the end of a busy motocross season. Initially he opted for a natural recovery during a rest period, but the problems persisted, and an operation was called for.

Dankers crashed during his very last training session at the end of the season. Because he was due for a layoff from riding in any case, the full extent of the injury was not immediately apparent. He only realized the extent of the damage when he tried to resume bike training recently. Physical training presented no problems, but riding the bike made it clear soon enough that this injury needed more drastic treatment.

After a CG scan a torn labrum cap was diagnosed. Raivo was operated on this during the week, and the operation was a success. Raivo’s training schedule has suffered a setback, but it does seem as if he would be fully recovered by the time the season starts.

Raivo’s focus is on his first big outing of the season on 7 and 8 March 2020, when he will participate in the first round of the EMX250 series at Valkenswaard.
