Young Spanish talent, Sergio Notario has decided to take some time away from the sport so we won’t be seeing him in the paddock for at least the 2018 season!

It’s a shame to see the young rider make this decision as he has plenty of potential but after racing for ten years he feels it’s the best decision for him to make at this point.

Notario had a good season last year as he ended up sixth in the very competitive EMX125 Championship, he had been expected to make the jump up to the EMX250 class but unfortunately that’s not too be. Hopefully we will see him back in the paddock in the future!

He posted the following message on social media:

As you all now, I‘ve not been riding that much these last couple of months and many of you guys have been asking what my 2018 plan was. It is hard to explain how I actually feel, but will try and make you guys trynna know how my feelings are. It’s been already 10 years I am racing throughout mx races and it has been a completely satisfying phase of my life. There has been a lot of sacrifice on my back which is hard to support. So I reached a point in my way which I asked my self what I really needed right now. As a result, I decides to stop racing at the moment, which, in my opinion, will be the best for me. This doesn’t pull out the amount of passion and appreciation I have when I ride my bike, and I will keep riding cuz I enjoy it as the first day I sat up the bike, but things have changed. I’m not saying bye to racing, but just saying I will see you soon. #TheNotorious ❤
