Scottish Championship aiming for three more rounds in 2020

The Scottish Motocross Championship have had one round of the series pre-lockdown and are aiming to run three more rounds in 2020 if things go according to plan. Stuart Flockhart who runs the series posted the following update:

Thank you for your patience regarding the Scottish Motocross Championship with ScotMX this year. We obviously had to bring things to a pause due to the COVID-19 restrictions that started to take effect not long after our great first round up at Tain. We decided not to post too much during this lockdown period as we really didn’t know how things were going to unfold, how long we would have to wait before allowing to compete again , and what restrictions would be in place, etc.

At this point in mid July with restrictions easing, we have recently been in communication with SACU to discuss the possibility of trying to complete our 2020 season. Our aim to offer 3 further rounds thus concluding the 2020 Championship has been put forward and is currently awaiting approval from above.

Proposed dates (awaiting confirmation):
• Round 2 – 15/16 August
• Round 3 – 19/20 September
• Round 4 – 10/11 October

We understand this does not yet offer our racers a definitive answer however we appreciate your queries that have been coming in and felt this little update may be helpful to let you know where we stand.

We sincerely hope to be able to confirm these plans by the coming weekend.

Yours in sport,
Stuart Flockhart
