Scott replaces Weckman at Assomotor Honda

Young New Zealander, James Scott, who has been racing some EnduroGP, will be back in the EMX paddock for the next three rounds after being drafted in as a replacement for the injured Emil Weckman (fractured T5 in his back in a crash at Oss) in the Assomoto Honda team.

“The deal came about when my team manager in New Zealand seen Emil got hurt he immediately got on the phone to Gordon Crockard and then it all sort of just fell into place. It’s definitely been awhile since I’ve raced in the MXGP scene as the last time was 2018. I have had two really good seasons in New Zealand the past two years so I am pretty happy with where my riding has been at, in saying that though it has been four months since the New Zealand mx nationals finished and all I have been riding is Enduro although it is really good bike fitness it’s completely different style of riding and intensity. My first goal for emx250 is to qualify as it hasn’t been a strong point of mine in the past, I would also be happy if I could grab a top ten result”, Scott told GateDrop.com.
