Unfortunately, during the MXGP of Lombardia at Ottobiano in Italy, Darian Sanayei suffered from the hot conditions and took heat stroke. He crashed three laps from the end of the second moto when he was running fourteenth.

The good news for the American is that he has no broken bones but due to doctors advice he will miss this weekend so he can recover.

Sanayei posted the following message on social media: “Gutted I’ll be missing this weekend’s GP in Portugal due to suffering heat stroke this past weekend. But I will be back for more!”

Hopefully the young American will be back in action at Loket for round thirteen of the MX2 World Championship.

With Brylyakov and Searle also injured it doesn’t look like Steve Dixon will have a rider in Portugal which is a shame but hopefully we aren’t far away from all three being back under the teams awning.
