Rumour: Ryan Dungey retiring before 2017 outdoor season begins?
Update 16th May 2017 – It’s not a rumour any longer… Ryan Dungey has officially retired! Check out this article for the full details.
Ryan Dungey made a bit of his own history at the weekend as he won his fourth AMA Supercross title and it didn’t come easy with Eli Tomac pushing him all the way to that title.
Dungey still hasn’t signed a contract extension with KTM and his existing deal runs out at the end of the year. He hasn’t publicly announced yet if he will retire or continue his journey racing.
However, Steve Matthes from PulpMX who is a man in the know over in America, is reporting that Dungey might not even compete in the great outdoors this season! Could this be the last we see of Ryan Dungey racing? Here’s hoping this doesn’t end up being the case as Tomac and Dungey could provide some epic battles during the course of the motocross season.
After the SX season finished for another season at the weekend, Dungey revealed that he found it hard keeping his motivation. You can read more about it here.
We will provide you with more news as we get it on Dungey’s situation.
You can see Matthes tweet below:
Rumor is we'll hear something about Dungey's status for the mx series by end of week. Hope I'm wrong but I'll take "he's out" for $100 Alex.
