Roosiorg strong in Bielstein!

Roosiorg strong in Bielstein!

At the last round of the EMX250 Championship, Jeremy Sydow was the only rider under the WZ Racing team but he was joined by four other riders for the third round of the ADAC MX Masters series in Bielstein.

In the ADAC MX Masters class, things didn’t go to plan for Ken De Dycker as a stone hit him on his knee during the first moto. As he was in quite a lot of pain he pulled out of the moto and also didn’t start the second moto but fingers crossed he’ll be fine for the next round of the series.

As for Gianluca Ecca, it was another week he managed to qualify straight through to the main races without needing to go to the LCQ. Ecca was riding well in the first moto but unfortunately was victim to arm pump which meant he dropped back to twenty-sixth but points were definitely possible. In the second moto he had to pull out after a stone hit his goggles and popped the glass out of them which made it impossible to continue.

In the ADAC MX Youngsters class, it was another good weekend for Hardi Roosiorg, the Estonian was sat sixth in the championship coming into round three but after Bielstein he moves up to fifth in the championship which is good progress. Roosiorg had a very solid day going 6-3 for fifth overall. He suffered from a small crash in the second moto otherwise a podium might have been possible.

Young German, Jeremy Sydow didn’t have an easy weekend as he crashed during the timed practice and the first race but he showed his determination. Despite being in pain he finished eight and tenth in the moto’s to end up seventh overall. He certainly has the speed for better results but considering the pain he was in, it was a solid day.

Dovydas Karka hasn’t been racing in the European scene and because of that, Bielstein was his first hard pack race of the season. Karka had a good first moto as he was running well inside the top ten but then lost his rhythm towards the end of the moto and dropped back to tenth which was still a solid moto considering it’s his first hard pack race of the season. Unfortunately, in the second moto he took a big crash with just a lap to go and hurt his shoulder so it meant he couldn’t finish the second moto but he can be happy with his progress.

Hardi Roosiorg (6-3, 5th Overall): Saturday started pretty good as I finished 3rd in my group in free practise and in qualifying I had the same place so I got behind the gate for Sundays races as 6th. Sunday warm up I had a good feeling and finished 2nd behind my teammate Sydow.

In the first race I got a good jump over the gate but messed up when going uphill since my rear wheel slipped out, but made some quick passes and finished 6th. Second race got a much better start and started immediately fighting for the 1st place, but made a small mid-race crash and just didn’t find the opportunity to pass Hofer and settled for 3rd.

I’m happy as my riding on hard pack gets better and better each time, so we will see what next round of ADAC will bring in Möggers.

Jeremy Sydow (8-10, 7th Overall):  It was a pretty painful weekend for me. I crashed hard during timed practice and race one.

In the first race I was able to finish second but had a big crash so it was only eighth. In the second race I was riding with a lot of pain and made a little crash during the race. I finished tenth, I am really disappointed but it is what it is.

Dovydas Karka (10-DNF, 16th Overall): Well, it was the first hardpack race  of the season for me, which I’m not used to riding on. Qualifying went smooth with 4th in my group.

In the first moto I had a decent start and rode half of the race in 6th-7th, then fell a few positions as I couldn’t find the right rhythm around the track and I finished 10th.  During the second moto I had a pretty big crash with 1 lap to go and hurt my shoulder, so I couldn’t continue the race.  So, 10-dnf is not the result I wanted, but I got some confidence to build on.

Gianluca Ecca(26-DNF, 38th Overall): Qualifying on Saturday went okay, I didn’t get the best lap, but it was enough for 14th in my group and a direct way into the mains.

The first moto started really good, but made it hard for myself as I struggled with arm pump and just finished in 26th. Second moto ended after 10 minutes as a stone hit my left eye pretty bad and the glass popped out of my goggles.
