Rodriguez heads back to USA – Honda to draft in replacement!
Speaking in the MXGP studio show at Portugal, Antony Rodriguez confirmed that the Portuguese GP would be the last race he competes in the MX2 World Championship for the HRC Honda outfit.
“No no, this will be the last race. I spoke to Roger Harvey about it. They have some other riders they want to try out. I took the opportunity and hopefully I do my best this weekend. I will then go home and race a 450 in the outdoors at the US”.
Rodriguez impressed during his second GP with the team in Portugal ending up eighth overall so you never know, the team could draft him in later in the year again or he could get a ride elsewhere in the GP paddock.
One thing for sure though is that the HRC Honda team will draft in a replacement rider for the next two rounds of the MX2 World Championship rounds.
We can’t say just yet who it is so you will just have to wait and see!
