Results: Olsen and Cairoli win qualifying races in Portugal
After going fastest in both practice sessions and then getting an important holeshot over Cairoli, it looked it was going to be the perfect day for Tim Gajser at Ageuda -but Cairoli had other ideas!
Gajser had a three second lead but Cairoli, with ten minutes to go, upped his pace and reeled the Honda man in before making a decisive pass with a couple minutes remaining to take an excellent win.
Behind the front two Alex Lupino rode superb for third with Desalle in fourth after two very aggressive passes on Monticelli and Paulin, who both nearly hit the deck as Desalle took advantage of the wide open corners to get creative!
Thomas Kjer Olsen won a cracking MX2 race with a sensational moving passing battling race leaders Henri Jacobi and Jorge Prado in one turn!
As Jacobi defended the inside and Prado went wide, a smart Olsen jetted between the middle of pair and pulled out a couple of seconds lead to take the race win!
Prado had holeshot but Jacobi passed him straight away and from their they went at it all moto with Jacobi managing to hold the world champ off for second. It was the first time all year Prado was passed after a holeshot and made to work for it!
