Results: MXGP timed practice Riola – Herlings fastest but Cairoli injured!

Jeffrey Herlings went fastest in the deep sand of Riola as Tim Gajser looked stiff and sore in 18th but everyone’s thoughts right now are with Antonio Cairoli who crashed heavily endoing off a downhill jump leaving his machine with broken handlebars and, worryingly, Cairoli had to be stretchered off at his home GP. There is no word yet on his condition but the medical crew took a long time with him before he was carried off.

A concerned Herlings said: “The track is sketchy, all my prayers go to Tony. I hope he is safe and the man above keeps him safe. For me, I’m looking good for today I’m hoping for two good starts, stay safe and hope to get on the podium or the win.”
