Jeffrey Herlings went pole to edge out Jeremy Seewer with Romain Febvre and Tim Gajser down in fourth and sixth with Gajser going down on his last attempt at a fast lap after running into the back of another rider!

Febvre’s fastest lap got taken away as punishment for stopping on the track but his next best was virtually identical so he still qualified fourth just ahead of a rapid Alessandro Lupino.

Herlings, who said yesterday it was going to be all-out war and it was time to drop the hammer, said: “Feeling good, maybe the best I’ve been for the last three rounds. Looking forward to it, it’s going to be hectic, interesting motos with the championship being so close.”
