Jeffrey Herlings made a quick move on holehost man Tony Cairoli and proceeded to pull away to an easy win in race one with Cairoli unable to hold the pace of the Dutchman.
Cairoli though did manage to hold off Tim Gajser for third.
Herlings said: “It makes such a difference on this track (to get a start), it’s a special track.”
Jeffrey Herlings won again after quickly passing Antonio Cairoli in race two but it was a tougher first half of the race for Herlings as Cairoli stayed on the Dutchman’s back wheel but could never quite make a pass attempt.
In the second half of the race Herlings stretched the gap as Cairoli settled for second, taking his hand off the bar at times to shake out the pain in his injured thumb. Tim Gajser rode well again for third but never got on terms with the front two out of the gate.
“ I felt so, so good on the bike and I had such a good rhythm to win here at Loket is a big thing, admitted Herlings after the race. “I’m very happy with this weekend.”
