At Mantova, the “Internazionali d’Italia MX” had its last round. It was an amazing day for Team SM Action Yamaha: Renaux was crowned Champion of the MX2 while Adamo finished 2nd in the race and 3rd in the championship. Solid race for Jacobi in the MX1.

For the second weekend of February the International Crossdrome of Tazio Nuvolari, in Mantua, hosted the last round of the “Internazionali d’Italia Motocross Eicma Series”, a compelling championship in which many international riders took part. The clean weather (since the middle of the morning) and the perfectly prepared surface of the track gave to the audience a race day to remember, with fights and competitions.

Team SM Action Yamaha, with all of its riders, went on track with a lot of grit and after the perfect work that was done in the past rounds it collected the results that were deserved after all the effort.

In the hard contended class of the MX2, the French Maxime Renaux #959 went on track with the red plate on his Yamaha YZ-F, and he was determined to conquer the championship. On the sand he was fast straight away and he made the Pole Position (the second one this season after Ottobiano’s weekend). His start of the race was not the best one, but after a few laps Maxime started to recover and moved to the podium places. Unluckily, a contact with another rider made him moving back to the 4th place, but that was enough to crown him MX2 Champion. In the “Supercampione” race, good luck was once again missing: he started the race in the middle of the group but then he had a big crash, and considering that it could have been worse, Renaux decided to retire in order to avoid any risks.

Another main character of the MX2 was the young Italian Andrea Adamo #80. He signed the 6th fastest lap time of his group during qualifying and he went to the starting gate of the race in 12th position. He made an excellent start he was the leader of the race at turn 1. Andrea then managed to lead with authority for 6 laps, when he was overtaken, and after a lot of fights with the other riders he was able to keep the podium position and he finished 2nd, conquering the 3rd place in the championship. In the “Supercampione” race, instead, he was involved in a group crash, and he retired after 7 laps.
In the MX1 Henry Jacobi #29, on his YAMAHA YF-F 450, was not able to repeat the performance that he made at Ottobiano. However, he had a lot of fights with the riders in the ‘top 10’ and he showed to have an increasingly good feeling with his new bike. The German was 9th after Qualifying, but in the race, after that he started in 17th place, he made a solid recovery and he finished 6th. In the “Supercampione” race his start was definitely better, so after that he found his pace in the ‘top 10’, Jacobi rode precisely without any mistakes and he kept his position until the checkered flag.

As the “Internazionali d’Italia Motocross Eicma Series” have finished, the next appointment for Team SM Action Yamaha will be on the 29th of February / 1st of March in England, when the FIM Motocross World Championship 2020 will begin, at Matterley Basin circuit.

Maxime Renaux #959: “The weekend went well but it wasn’t easy. After the fastest lap in Qualifying, I had a good start of the race but I wasn’t concentrated enough. After a few laps I found my pace and I finished 4th, even though I had a contact with another rider. In the “Supercampione” race I had a good start but I crashed at turn 1 and I hit quite hard my head, so I preferred not to continue. Despite all of the that, I’m really happy for the title: for me and for the team. In three weeks-time the World Championship will begin and I will do my best!”.

Andrea Adamo #80: “It was a beautiful day. In the MX2 race I started in 1st place and I led the race for 6 laps. I then got overtaken but I behaved well and I finished in 2nd place. I really wanted this podium and I’m happy that I gained it. The “Supercampione” race went not bad, but I crashed and I had to retire. What really interested me was the MX2 and I hit my target. After this result I’m happy and even more motivated. I will keep working hard and I can’t wait for the beginning of the EMX250 Championship at Valkenswaard”.

Emanuele Giovannelli (Team Manager): “What to say! We did even more than expected! We are really happy: today we gained a 2nd and a 4th place with Andrea and Maxime respectively, we won the title with Maxime and we finished in 3rd place with Andrea, so it couldn’t go any better. About Henry, he is improving race by race and after his long stop we can’t pretend him to be at the top straight away, but he is really working hard! What else to add…the good results are making us confident for the World Championship, let’s hope to continue this way!”.
