Redsand International cancelled!

The 65cc and 85cc classes have already had their racing at the Redsand International event. The EMX125 and EMX250 classes were scheduled to take part and complete their racing today. However, rain has hit the paddock and the organisers have been forced to cancel the event.

Juanjo Gimeno, the event organiser posted the following message to his facebook account:

“The first race – is suspended, the heavy rains yesterday and tonight have left accesses, paddock and circuits in a critical state.

At the moment trying to get out of the paddock to the pilots who were unable to leave last night.
A very hard decision, but it’s the only one that can be taken.
Thank you for the effort of all the people involved, lastlap, flygroup, security, Federation, suppliers and pilots who have become close to red sands mx park.
We’ll keep you posted in the next few hours.

It’s a bitter blow as a lot of work went into this event attracting lots of GP teams, huge prize money and a brilliant track. Hopefully this won’t affect the race being run in the future and that the Redsand track can have an International race in 2018.
