Nunn on his MXoN debut at 18

Carl Nunn made his Motocross Des Nations debut in 1998 – twenty two years ago! To make the event extra special it was in front of his home crowd at Foxhill.

The British talent was running at the front in both moto’s before crashing in the wet and muddy conditions. In the first race he still managed to finish as the sixth 125cc rider over the line but unfortunately didn’t finish the second moto.

Great Britain also consisting of Paul Malin and Rob Herring finished seventh that year with Belgium’s line up of Patrick Caps, Stefan Everts and Marnicq Bervoets taking the victory.  Finland and New Zealand rounded off the podium. There’s no doubt that Nunn learnt a lot that day and has great memories.

“1998 MXdN at Foxhill, what a weekend. My first MXdN at 18 years old. I was having a great day until the later stages of each race. I wish I had the knowledge of Everts at this point. After watching the race back he was so calm, even stopped at the bottom of the hill until it was clear, what a legend, I was uneducated in such extreme conditions and just wide open. It was still a great memory to be involved in such an iconic event”, Nunn stated on the event.
