New team to contest EMX250 series in 2021!

There will be a new team in the Grand Prix paddock for the 2021 season as the VIP Lounge MX team has been formed. The team will contest the EMX250 championship as well as the Dutch Masters of Motocross and some MON/local races. The team will run with KTM machinery.

Tallon Verhelst and Romano Aspers have signed deals with the team for the 2021 season. The team are also on the look out to possibly add a third EMX250 rider.

Verhelst has plenty of experience on the MX2 machine but Aspers only stepped up to the 250cc last year but got injured and due to COVID-19 didn’t ride for five months. This will be Aspers first full season racing the 250cc.

Tallon Verhelst: The deal came together as we were already friends for a few years now and last year we actually had a deal but it didn’t work out after I signed with VRT. It also didn’t work out either. After that Eric from VIP Lounge contacted me and we saw each other every weekend practicing together.  He said he wanted to start a new team and now we have a team for the 2021 season. We will try to qualify for the EMX250 class and then try to score points.  In January and February we will go to Spain to prepare for the season.

Romano Aspers: We will have good trainings together like last year because the team actually started from practicing together every week. This is where the idea came from to start a team. The goal for me is to qualify and hopefully on a good weekend score some points. I am only 15 years old and still going to school so it won’t be so easy. I am working hard physically and during training we push at a good level to learn from each other.
