MXGP: Injuries in Qatar!
Unfortunately Adam Sterry wasn’t the only rider to pick up an injury during the opening round of the World Championship at Qatar, Adam ended up breaking his radius!
Calvin Vlaanderen didn’t last long as he twisted his ankle in the last lap of free practice on Friday. It is the same ankle that he twisted a few months ago and he decided to give the GP a miss. It is unlikely that he will be back to compete at Thailand this weekend. However, he should be back for the first round of the Dutch motocross championship. The first round of that championship takes place on the 13th March which means his first GP back will be Valkenswaard.
Davy Pootjes was looking good during the first MX2 moto of the day until he suffered a crash. Davy was running in an impressive sixth position! However, he has suffered a broken collarbone from his crash. Davy is currently back in Holland but will undergo an operation tomorrow. Davy, like Calvin hopes to be back for the first round of the Dutch Championship. If this race proves to be too early for the Dutch rider he will be back for Valkenswaard GP.
Alfie Smith, back in the MXGP scene also didn’t have a great day. Unfortunately he landed on a bike that was already down on the deck. Unfortunately, the damage to his injury is also a broken collarbone! Hopefully he can be back at the GP’s soon!
