MX Nationals head to Scotland!

MX Nationals head to Scotland!

The MX Nationals team are pleased to announce the rescheduled round 3 on weekend of the 28/29th May 2016 will take place at the superb Duns Motocross track in Scotland. The circuit is managed by Pro Mx2 rider Bryan Mackenzie and he will be preparing the venue to the highest standards to ensure a fantastic weekend’s race action.

Kevin Daniels – MX Nationals Series Manager “As the country’s leading two day national series, it is important that we visit as many parts of the country as possible. We have riders that travel from all parts of the country to take part and we feel that the addition of Duns is another positive step for both the series and our competitors. We look forward to welcoming you there in May.”

As part of the process in securing venues, the Michelin Mx Nationals directors visit all venues prior to any announcements being made.

Paul Irwin – Mx Nationals director has been at the venue today and commented “It’s not easy to find great circuits that can accommodate events the size of the MX Nationals, Duns motocross circuit certainly fits the bill. Bryan and I are on the same page as far as the track goes. I guarantee riders will love it. It is one of those tracks that just makes you want to go riding. It’s going to be a fun weekend in Bonnie Scotland!!

We asked Bryan Mackenzie for his thoughts about our visit. “Well I’m super excited, obviously. It’s the first time a national mx event has been to the track in 3 or 4 years and it’s the first one here since I’ve been at the helm of the Duns Motocross track. It’s exciting, but at the same time it makes me nervous. It’s a different role to what I’m used to at this standard of event as usually I’m lining up behind the gate, so to be prepping and delivering the track is quite scary, but then I have a pretty good understanding of what makes a good riding surface so I’m confident of doing a good job. The MX Nationals fits perfect for what I want for the Duns Motocross Track. It’s a high profile event run by a great and competent team of people which should make my role in the whole deal much easier and it caters for a wide array of rider allowing all calibre and age of Scottish and North-east of England rider to come and compete on a big professional stage. I hope everyone will enjoy it.”

With the round 3 venue confirmed, we now look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks at Round 2 taking place at Landrake.
