Mickael Pichon to race the Le Touquet

Winner of the Enduropale du Touquet ten years ago, Mickael Pichon will be back on the côte d’Opale in January. Together with Clément Dumez, he will be seeking another success, but this time on behalf of a charity association helping seriously ill children.

Le Touquet will remain forever as a unique event, and each year the thousand competitors who start this classic race have one objective; to win, to aim for the podium, a top 100, to complete a lap, to be able to say to his friends “I did it ” or simply to do a good deed. And it is after a meeting with Clément Dumez, who will start his ninth Le Touquet at the end of January, that Mickael has decided to present himself at the start of the 46th edition.

“To come back one day to Le Touquet, the idea had been in my head for several years,” confides Mika who has never completely put off his helmet and boots. “When Clément contacted me this summer to present his project, I immediately agreed with the idea and since our first meeting we have made good progress, despite the fact that this year 2020 is still very complicated”.

Extrem Opale Challenge

The idea is simple, to help the association Reves (www.reves.fr) which enables seriously ill children to realise one of their dreams. In concrete terms, Mickael and Clément, who will be wearing the colours of the “Extrem Opale Challenge”, will be the last to start the race, two minutes after the last wave; for each driver overtaken, a jackpot will be fed by the donations of partners and private individuals who will also be able to bet at a distance.

The objective clearly stated by the two men is to raise €10,000, with the sums collected being entirely donated to the Reves association.

“The challenge really pleases me, we will ride for a good cause and I am all the more motivated. I have started training again this year with Zach, now we will fine-tune the preparation of the 450 CRF Honda that I will ride for the occasion and continue to prepare,” stated Mickael, who has recently competed in some endurance races with Guennady Auvray as a team-mate.

This time it is with Clément, who has set himself a new objective after having realised one of his dreams by entering the Top 100 last year in Le Touquet, that Mika will get back into the atmosphere of the race.
