McCullough on Ireland’s Saturday – Irwin passed fit to race!
After a day of bad luck, Ireland’s team manager Philip McCullough has given us this update on the team and Graeme Irwin’s condition heading into the B final tomorrow:
McCullough: “I took Graeme for a medical today with the doctor at the track after he got back from the hospital and he’s passed fit to race tomorrow, Martin had a bit of bad luck today or could easily finished around 12th or 13th.. Stuart rode very well in MX3 and got a very creditable 18th place finish.
“Graeme is getting his shoulder heavily strapped in the morning at the medical centre just for precaution but after a team meeting with the three riders tonight they all are pumped and fired up knowing their job in the morning is to win the B final and put themselves on the big stage tomorrow afternoon, and so they deserve to be in my eyes.
“It’s been a roller coaster past 24hrs but again it’s an honour to manage and lead these 3 guys out as team boss.”
Win or lose tomorrow you can’t doubt these guy’s determination and effort – good luck boys!
