The club are now pleased to be able to announce details of our 2017 7 round club championship. With some great backing from new and loyal sponsors we have managed to pull together roughly a pot of £10000 plus prize fund spread out across all classes throughout the year in this championship.

First off are the kid’s classes. Looking back on last year and talking to riders, parents and local dealers we found the shop vouchers to be a great success, so for 2017 we have brought this back again but in a bigger fashion. With help from our class sponsors and local dealers- Norman Watt, Stephen Russell Motorcycles and HTM Off-road, all of the 5 kid’s classes will have shop vouchers up for grabs at each round. Listed below is the voucher prize funds handed out on the day per class per round.

1st £50
2nd £40
3rd £30
4th £20

A total of £5000 worth of vouchers will be handed out over the 7 rounds. We have also managed to secure some great backing from Sperrins motocross track to be able to hand out track vouchers for most improved rider on the day.
End of season trophies will then be handed for over all championship positions with your best 2 out of three races on the day counting for both the vouchers and championship. You will also have to compete in at least 5 of the 7 rounds to be eligible for a trophy.
Now onto the adult classes

This article continues below

The biggest change regarding the adult classes this year will be the introduction of 2 grade C classes and the vet’s class being made redundant. Grade C Premier Class will consist of the top 15/20 grade C from last year along with what would have been the riders from the vet’s class last year. Grade C will then cater for the rest of grade C and any veteran licence holders who would prefer to ride in this class. The idea behind this is to try and cater for all riders and give everyone a good fun, competitive days racing keeping a steady spread of abilities and levels in the right grade. This will also we hope attract, welcome and progress any new adult riders coming along. This will also be rolled out in all our other championships as well in 2017. The A and B classes will stay unchanged for 2017 with the relevant grade B riders progressing into grade A. All adult classes will be the same as the junior classes with your best two results counting on the day for championship points and you must compete at least 5 of the 7 rounds to qualify for the overall championship trophies and prize funds. Listed below are the overall championship position prize funds which will be handed out at the end of the year with trophies in all adult classes.

1st £250
2nd £150
3rd £100
4th £75
5rd £50
6th £30

Please note that all riders’ youth and adult are only eligible for prizes and trophies once club licence has been taken out and points will only count from this date and not be back dated in all championships.

The club would like to thank the following people who have come on board this year to make this all possible in this championship and ask our club members to support them as much as they are supporting us.
