Lupino and Cervellin – Italian Champions!

Lupino and Cervellin – Italian Champions!

As well as competing in the World Championship, Alessandro Lupino and Michele Cervellin have been competing in the Italian Championship throughout the course of the season.

It was a great weekend for Lupino at the final round at Mantova as he won all three moto’s, the two MX1 moto’s and the Super final as he totally dominated the Italian MX1 series. The Assomotor Honda rider has raised his game this year and has posted some good results in the World Championship.

Lupino is expected to leave the Assomotor Honda team but he will contest the Motocross Des Nations next weekend where he will be hoping to help Italy get on the podium.

Cervellin’s day didn’t get off to the best of starts as he finished down in thirteenth place in the first MX2 moto which was a one-off bad moto for him. He set things straight in the second moto as he was able to fight off the challenge from Nicholas Lapucci to win the moto.

Cervellin also rode well in the Super final as he came home in third behind Lupino and the impressive David Philippaerts. Cervellin was the first MX2 machine across the line with Alvin Ostlund just a few seconds further back.

Both Cervellin and Lupino head to Matterley Basin next weekend to contest the Motocross Des Nations on behalf of the Italian team in what will be the last race of the year for the pair.
