Luke Smith had been preparing for a change to Kawasaki machinery this year. However, after the first round of the Irish Championship at Desertmartin, Smith has decided to switch back to KTM machinery as he feels the bike is a better fit for him.
Smith contested the first round of the MX2 British Championship and the first round of the Ulster Championship on his KTM but is a little behind in preparation and getting the bike dialled.
At the first round of the Ulster series, Smith was solid and ended up fourth overall in the MX2 class so he will hope to improve on that as the season progresses.
“Within the last week I have decided to make the switch to ktm again. The kawasaki was a great bike, however I feel the KTM suits me personally, better and although I haven’t got to ride it much yet I already feel very comfortable with it. Also, with it being a KTM I get to continue the partnership with Norman Watt Motorcycles, so that is a massive positive for me”! Smith had to say on his switch back to the KTM.
