Luka Milec signs with SixtyTwo MotoSport

Luka Milec has plenty of EMX experience but has mainly been a privateer in the paddock. That’s all about to change for 2019 season though as he’s agreed a deal with SixtyTwo MotoSport to contest the EMX250 Championship for the year ahead. The move will see Milec race a Husqvarna.
The SixtyTwo MotoSport is Klemen Gercar’s team but he’s decided to expand the team for the 2019 season so there’s more than just one rider under the awning. Gercar will also run an 85cc rider in the form of Jaka Peklaj who impressed this year on the 65cc.
Milec was a rookie in the EMX250 championship this year but would have learnt a lot that should make him stronger in 2019. He also clinched the MX2 Slovenian title this year.
As well as the EMX250 Championship, Milec will contest some rounds of the MX2 World Championship that don’t collide with the European series.
With the under 23 age rule in the EMX250 championship for the 2019 season and beyond, it should help riders like Milec.
“It feels amazing to sign with SixtyTwo MotoSport, I think we will work very well together. The team manager (Klemen Gercar) believes in me since he started following me and that’s probably the main reason that got the deal done. I expect myself to make a big step forward this season, putting myself into the top 10 in EMX250 at the end of the season would be pretty sweet. I can see myself getting a podium and at least a point in the MX2 World Championship where I’ll be racing a few. I want to thank all the sponsors for helping me in 2018, my coach Roman Jelen as well as Srdan Prodanović Fitextreme, Linda Cuddy and of course my parents”. Milec commented.
