Liverpool goalkeeper used to race motocross!

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius used to race motocross as a kid but switched to football much to the disappointment of his father!

The German, who is Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper and is no doubt a fan of countryman and motocross superstar Ken Roczen, raced motocross when he was four or five after his father got him a bike. But the youngster came across football via his granddad and, much to the disappointment of his motocross loving father (and delight of his mother) switched sports. In hindsight given his achievements in football and no doubt astronomical wages, he made the right choice, (unless he had the talent of a Ken Roczen or Max Nagl).

Karius isn’t the first Liverpool player to do motocross as Sami Hyypia is a huge fan of the sport and can often be seen at MXGP rounds never far away from the Ice One factory Husqvarna team.
