Kiwi Scott signs with KTM Diga Junior racing for rest of season
PR- KTM Diga Junior Racing is proud to announce the signing of New Zealand’s James Scott. The 16-year old from Oparau will finish the current EMX125 series with the Belgian outfit.
Scott, a former 85cc champion in New Zealand, turned heads last weekend when he scored a career-best 4th overall in Saint-Jean d’Angély. Two years ago James claimed an impressive second place moto finish in the British EMX150 round. The protegee of Ben Townley is due to make his race debut with KTM Diga Junior Racing at the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Lichtenvoorde.
James Scott: “Sometimes things don’t work out like you hope they would. I felt that unfortunately I didn’t gel that well with my previous team. However I’m very grateful for all the chances and support I’ve received from them. My focus is now on finishing the season strong with KTM Diga Junior Racing. The team has already put me on a strict training and riding schedule. And it feels great to get to going immediately! I know I have a big challenge ahead of me with the deep sand of Lommel coming up. We’ll work hard to be as fit as I can and to get the bike set up for my needs.”
Dirk Saelen, KTM Diga Junior Racing team manager and owner: “We’re very pleased to have James with us for the remainder of the season. Even in those few days we’ve worked together this week it’s obvious James is motivated and keen to improve. Riding in the sand is not one of his strengths for the moment so we know what we’re up against for the next EMX125 round! I think James could pick up a few things from Emil Weckman in the sand but the combination of our two EMX125 riders could be mutually benefecial when they practice on hard pack too.”
