Kawasaki announce SMX rider line up!

Following the Qualifying Race press conference in Glen Helen, California, USA, Youthstream Director David Luongo and Kawasaki Motors Europe Racing Manager Steve Guttridge officially announced the Team Kawasaki line up for the Monster Energy SMX Riders’ and Manufacturers’ Cup which will take place on Saturday the 8^th of October inside the VELTINS-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Clement Desalle, Jordi Tixier and Tommy Searle, who all race the MXGP series for the Monster Energy Kawasaki teams, joined Mr. Luongo and Mr. Guttridge on stage to express their honour to be selected to defend the colors of Kawasaki for this first ever Supermotocross event.

Steve Guttridge, Racing Manager Kawasaki Europe: “Kawasaki are part of the MXGP series and each season we work in partnership with the series promoters Youthstream on many areas to help grow and promote our fantastic sport. Our riders are the stars and our teams make it happen. The SMX stadium event is new both to us as a manufacturer and for our riders, but the initiative has a big potential to reach a bigger audience and so we take this opportunity to not only show off our KX motorcycles but even display our wider range of Kawasaki products to the fans there. So we are happy to join the party with our top MXGP stars; Clement, Jordi and Tommy will be racing for us as our Manufacturer team. Kawasaki would like to thank them for representing us at the SMX and we wish them the very best.”

David Luongo, Youthstream Director concluded: “Kawasaki have a very strong and competitive line up and I wish to thank them to be part of this new event with their best riders. Six teams have been announced so far and we want all the riders to enjoy the event and the track, which is going to be a motocross one. The best names from both sides of the ocean will be inside the VELTINS-Arena the 8^th of October. This is a show to not to miss”.
