Karro to contest his home GP!
It’s been well over a year since Matiss Karro has contested a round of the MXGP World Championship but he’s back in Europe this season with the Pfeil Kawasaki outfit.
The Latvian will be racing his home Grand Prix taking place in Kegums this weekend which will be his first GP of the season. Karro is concentrating on the ADAC MX Masters series this year.
At the first round of the German series, Karro DNF’d the first moto but he was knocking on the door for a top ten result in the second moto as he eventually ended up thirteenth. The Latvian will be hoping to stay fit the entire season as he went to Brazil last year for a different kind of experience and picked up an injury there.
Karro was close to quitting the sport at the end of last season but one of his close friends convinced him to give it another go.
Matiss Karro: “It was good experience Brazil. I wanted to run away from Europe to start something new in racing and get away from injuries, but there I also got injured. It was different racing over there and I understood that I would like to stay in Europe. This year I have set myself different goals.
I was ready to stop racing but then there is one Estonian friend Peter, who was the sponsor for me who helped me start my GP career and now h’s called me begging of this year and he believes me and helped me to set my head to race again. I want to say a BIG THANKS to him”, Karro exclusively told Gatedrop.com
