Jonass angry after Mexico – title challenge over?

It looked as though Mexico could have been the first GP overall victory in Jonass career after such a dominant first moto. He took to the conditions better than everyone else and cruised to victory in the first moto and the KTM looked like the best bike in the difficult altitude. However, disaster struck in the second moto as he crashed in the first corner – just like in Assen.

He then showed some incredible speed to get back to get back to seventh just after a lap and he could see Gajser just ahead of him. He took too many risks though and had a massive crash similar to his massive crash in Sweden. He battled to a thirteenth place to salvage some points. After the first moto there was only four points in it between him and Gajser but after the second moto Gajser has extended his lead to eighteen points.

Jonass obviously wasn’t happy and had the following to say “Won my first ever Mx2 race in first moto and in 2nd moto rode like a chicken without a head and made this huge crash to finish 13th… Really angry on myself, again making amateur mistakes. I want to apologise to all my supporters, team, fans, trainers and family!”

Heading into Glen Helen, Pauls has nothing to lose, with eighteen points down he will give it everything he has and go for it! Could he go 1 – 1 for his first overall GP win? If he manages to do that and still lose the title it would sill be a big statement for 2016, he will really mean business then and won’t be a rookie anymore!

Has the crash in Mexico cost Pauls the title? We will have to wait and see but Glen Helen will be exciting to say the least especially when you add guys like Jessy Nelson, Joey Savatgy and Aaron Plessinger in the mix! It will be a fascinating GP! Anything can still happen as we see so many times in this sport and i won’t be surprised to see either Jonass or Gajser win the title!
