Unfortunately, because of a visa issue Arminas Jasikonis will miss the first round of the MXGP World Championship. The Lithuanian was stranded at the airport in Qatar for the past few days and hasn’t had sleep for two days! He tried everything to ride in Qatar but unfortunately luck wasn’t on his side.

It’s a real shame he couldn’t take part this weekend but at least he hasn’t got too long to wait with the next GP taking place in Indonesia next weekend. No doubt the young factory Suzuki rider will be very motivated to put on a good show!

With Jasikonis missing the first round that leaves Kevin Strijbos as the sole rider in the MXGP class for the Factory Suzuki team.

Jasikonis confirmed via Instagram that he can’t race this weekend:

I’m sorry, tried my very best to ride this weekend, but seems like luck is not on my side for this couple days… I have to take today morning flight back to Brussels, otherwise I will have problems, and I will be not allowed to comeback to Qatar… just gonna have some good sleep, cause I haven’t sleep for 2 days already… and tomorrow back on bike! Gonna have some extra hours Before Indonesia! Super motivated to show up in Indonesia!!! Huge thanks to @s72forever he been trying all day long get me out of this airport…
