Jacobi OUT for the season – uncertain future!

Jacobi OUT for the season – uncertain future!

After crashing during free practice at the MXGP of Flanders, Henry Jacobi has revealed that he’s dislocated his shoulder which will see him out for the rest of the season.

The German has also opened up about an injury he picked up at a race simulation in Germany as he broke his foot and hit head pretty hard which means he wasn’t 100% for when the MXGP season resumed in Latvia. Jacobi has continued to improve though and could have a bright future in the class.

It looks like Jacobi will leave the SM-Action Yamaha team as he’s revealed he hasn’t yet got a deal for 2021 but is motivated to prove people wrong!

For his MXGP rookie season, Jacobi can be pretty happy with how his season went and he should be stronger in 2021 if he can land a ride.

You can read the German’s statement below:

“Hey everyone, I thought I give you an update as I am in hospital and have a bit of time. Unfortunately I had a really small crash in the free practice on Sunday morning @ Lommel but somehow I dislocated my shoulder, which means I am out for the last few races…”.

“This year started of really good with a top 10 finish at the first GP, which was followed by a back injury just before the “Corona break” started. I kept myself in good shape and was ready to go whenever. I didn’t talk about it a lot but in the middle of June, I crashed at a race simulation, broke my foot and hit my head pretty hard. Just when I got back on the bike 4 weeks later, I crashed at the Italian Championship in Faenza which gave me another concussion”.

“So when our season 2.0 started in the beginning of August, I was way behind schedule and surely not in shape. Not because I didn’t wanted to train, just because I couldn’t as in the most important part of the preparation I was hurt an injured. But instead of making excuses, I did what I get paid for, which is SHOW UP AND RACE”.

“As my results have shown, every week I got a little better, a little fitter, a littler faster…. So far, I don’t know what the future holds for me, as I got no contract for 2021 yet. We are working hard on it and I hope we are able to get the chance to prove them wrong that have lost faith in me”.
