Ivo Monticelli undergoes surgery

Ivo Monticelli has revealed that he’s gone under the knife after a crash at the opening round of the MXGP World Championship held at Matterley Basin. As there’s currently no racing at the moment due to the COVID-19 pandemic now is the perfect chance to do any surgeries that might be required – not many are able to ride at the moment anyway.

“Hi guys. After the crash in England my shoulder was no longer stable and I had to operate. Thanks to the current situation, I had to wait more than a month to find a place, but I finally succeeded. I would like to thank all my family for my prepared @ luca.fiori.mx_trainer and the whole @standinggasgas team for helping me right now. See you on the track”, the Italian stated on social media.

It’s very unlikely that the Factory Standing Construct GasGas rider will miss any rounds of the MXGP World Championship which is good news.

Ciao a tutti ragazzi. Dopo la caduta in Inghilterra la mia spalla non era più stabile e mi sono dovuto operare. Grazie alla situazione attuale ho dovuto aspettare più di un mese per trovare un posto ma finalmente ci sono riuscito.
