The fifth round of the Irish Championship took place at Dundalk over the weekend.

In the MX1 class it was Stuart Edmonds who won all three races to grab seventy-five championship points. Jim O’Neill rode excellent on his VMX KTM to end up second overall and edged out Richard Bird.

Christopher Cully won the Semi-Experts MX1 class as he won all three races. Gary Marmion ended up second overall.

It was a good day for the Meara’s in the MX2 class. Jason Meara who is coming back from a serious back injury won the overall. James Mackrel won the first moto of the day but DNF’d the second moto and didn’t take part in the last moto of the day.

Dylan Stynes was in impressive form on his TM as he won the last moto of the day, he ended up a very strong second overall. Jordan Keogh who dislocated his shoulder at the last round of the Ulster Championship rode in pain but ended up third overall to keep his Irish Championship hopes alive.

Cailum Meara won the Semi-Expert class as he won all three moto’s. Paul Laverty edged out Devidas Ravitas for second overall.

Darren Wilkinson and Jonathan Presho won the Grade C MX1 and MX2 classes respectively.
