Interview: Tim Gajser – I’m training even harder!
Tim Gajser says he is ready to get the 2018 season underway after a long winter and he believes he is ready to fight for the MXGP world title!
Off road media caught up with Tim just before he begins the his season at the Italian international championship this weekend.
Hi Tim, how’s your winter preparation going?
“Well, I’m having a great winter, I’m getting ready, we’ve done a lot of tests, we’ve changed a lot of things on the bike and now I’m satisfied with the package we have available. Now I can not wait to start raciing again because the winter break always seems to me very long. “
Things did not go very well last year, do you want revenge?
“Yes, last year we had a bit of bad luck, but motocross is like that sometimes. In mid-season I crashed a lot and I got injured, then I lost the red table and I started working all year, until the last two races, where I got back to good shape, winning a GP in Sweden and some heats. This year I’m training even harder to do my best and now I feel 100% ready to go back to fighting for the title. “
What effect does it make you go back to racing in Sardinia where you raced for the first time with a 450 two years ago?
“I’m happy and I can not wait to be on track in Riola. This year we have chosen to prepare and do the tests in France and Spain, so the first International race will allow me to find a very nice track, with a very deep sand that reminds that of Lommel. “
Do you think you will be one of the protagonists of the first race of the year?
“Yes, I will do my best to get on the podium, the Internationals of Italy are a very important series, because they start just before the start of the World Championship in Argentina and give the opportunity to check their level compared to the competitors. Since I was running with the 125 in 2011 I started to participate in the Internationals and still today I participate in it because being able to make some start and some high level races before the World championship is really an important thing. “
