Station Mx: Hello Cyril Genot, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Cyril Genot: I am currently 16 years old. I started when I was 2 and a half years. I drove around the lawn behind me. I participated in my first competition in Lille (Belgium), on a PW50. My father drove at a very good level and I was involved in a few races from time to time. I started to participate in the European Championship in 2012on an 85cc. At the end of the 2013 season I went on a 125cc and I participated in the EMX125 class in Lierop and there I managed to climb on the third step of the podium, which I really didn’t expect. By 2015, with a bit of support from Husqvarna we opted to participate in the EMX125 Championship, ONK and Belgian races with our family structure.

Station Mx: We will revisit your 2015 season, could you tell us how your season went? What were your highs and lows?

Cyril Genot: The season went well. No injuries, victory in Lommel, the podium in Valkenswaard and a 12th place in the championship with good points. The low points were the adjustment of the motorcycle and racing on the hard pack.

Station Mx: You now switch to the 250, has the transition from the 125 to the 250 went well? Are you happy with the 250?

Cyril Genot: The transition to the 250 happened without problems. The bike is better suited to my height and my weight. The engine really pleases me but that is changing and the bike is obviously heavier.

Station Mx: What should you work for next year?

Cyril Genot: I must work with the 250 4stroke and improve my stamina. I will continue to try to make progress on the hard pack.

Station Mx: Now that you are riding for the Silver Action team, that adds you some pressure?

Cyril Genot: Riding for the Silver Action team will not give me pressure. We well agreed on our goals with the team.

Station Mx: Can you tell us about this collaboration? (That brings you there? Duration of the contract etc…)

Cyril Genot: The Silveraction team (that I have come across with the help of Patrick Caps) and especially Mr Madaschi immediately put me in confidence. They have gave me a one year contract. Financially and in sporting terms, knowing that I continue my studies at the highest level (Science), this team me was best for me in order to advance in 2016 in the top category.

Station Mx: What are your goals for 2016?

Cyril Genot: My objectives for 2016 are to make progress, to qualify and to ride to the best of my ability without injury.

Station Mx: You are very fast in the sand would you consider to participate in the Touquet 2016?
Cyril Genot: I would like to participate in le Touquet once in my life, but my dad works a lot winter and this requires preparation. Maybe when I have finished my studies?

Station Mx: Thank you have told us and we wish you a good season 2016, we leave you the final word.

Cyril Genot: “I want to thank everyone who gave me help for 2015. I hope that they will continue to believe in me and help me in the future. I also thank you for this interview.
