Herlings stuns America to go 1-1 & comes from last in race two!

Jeffrey Herlings beat the best of America to win an AMA overall at his first attempt and did it in devastating style!
Herlings started third in race one but quickly moved into the lead on lap one passing Baggett and holeshot man Tomac. Tomac tried to fight back but hit the deck leaving Musquin to challenge Herlings for a while before the Dutchman inched away to the win.
In race two Jeffrey Herlings burst the American bubble again to go from last to first despite a first lap crash to win the second moto and go 1-1 in his first ever race in USA!
Herlings climbed to second and was going 1-2 seconds a lap faster than Musquin when the Frenchman crashed out of the lead with two laps to go, giving Herlings a dream debut in America – and gave the MXGP world championship even more respect in America!
Herlings said: “I was fastest all day, first moto and second moto, I was so pissed off with myself when I crashed in the second moto, I kept charging, I got a bit lucky with Marvin crashing but I don’t care I showed I was the fastest guy on the track.”
Meanwhile Eli Tomac rode smart after a poor start and took sixth place to wrap-up the 450 US motocross title, his first major 450 championship.
Tomac said: “I guess I let my ego get the best of me in the first moto. This is a lifelong dream that has finally come true, I am lost for words right now.”
