Herlings on his race at Axel

Jeffrey Herlings went 1-5 at Axel in his first race back since Covid but the Dutchman was happy with what he described as a “great day of racing.”

Herlings holeshot and won race one but after getting caught in a first turn pile-up in race two he came powering through the field to get in the back of the leaders by the end of the moto.

Herlings also reveals how hard he was pushing by revealing a maximum heart rate of 198 BPM!

The Dutchman seems ready for the the return of MXGP in Latvia next weekend!

Holeeeeeeshotttt. Solid day back racing. Holeshot moto 1, after 1 lap red flag. Restart the race and holeshot again and made a decent win. 2nd moto a few riders crashed going into the 1st turn, even though I didn’t crash I drove into them and my frontwheel was stuck in someone else his bike. Due to that I restart the race in last place and worked my way up to the front guys again. Got close to the leading group and managed to finish 5th with around 5 sec behind the leader. Great day of racing with great riders.
