Herlings: Foot injury almost cost me a career
Due to a broken foot and an ankle fracture, Jeffrey Herlings missed most of the 2019 MXGP World Championship and the Dutch talent has revealed that he’s still not fully recovered from the injury and still rides in pain and some discomfort.
“I still have problems with my foot to this day. I can no longer get the most out of my career. I am sure. I am limited in some things, can no longer run”, Herlings told Studio Sport in the Netherlands.
“There are possibilities to do something about it, but then I can’t do top sport. I don’t have that time now. I can race with it, but I always have that nagging pain”, added Herlings.
The four times Motocross World Champion also seems some similarites between himself and MotoGP’s, Marc Márquez. “Márquez can only take out himself. I sometimes see myself in it …”, Herlings concluded.
