Herlings breaks ankle!

Jeffrey Herlings has broken his ankle after his crash on the sighting lap in Latvia. Amazingly the champ braved the pain and WON the first moto after a battle with Arnaud Tonus.

Herlings went for checks after the race and has confirmed the injury to cap a terrible season for the world champion but showed his heart and toughness is unmatched.

“Very sorry to have to say I have broken my ankle, had a small crash on the sighting lap and another rider rode over my foot and broke my ankle. I just cannot believe it anymore. Of course I will be out for the second moto. Feeling so sorry for my team and sponsors,” wrote a gutted Herlings.

Very sorry to say I have broken my ankle, had a small crash in sighting lap and another rider rode over my bad foot and broke my ankle. I decided after sighting lap to still line up for the moto and even won the moto with a broken ankle. I just can not believe it anymore…….. Ofcourse I will be out for 2nd moto.
