Herlings battles through pain barrier to win in Indonesia!

Jeffrey Herlings broke his collarbone just over two weeks ago but after missing the GP in Ottobiano he made his return in Indonesia and incredibly won the GP!

In the first race, Herlings was at the front but Cairoli passed him and pulled away at front to claw back three championship points. Herlings held on to his well earned second spot after some pressure from Clement Desalle and Tim Gajser.

The second race was an exciting affair! Herlings got a good start and after Cairoli crashed had around a nine second gap over the 9 times world champion. Cairoli, lap after lap closed the gap and when it got to around 3 seconds, Herlings lost the front end and crashed.

It looked like Cairoli had the double win in his sights but just a few corners later he crashed again on the same corner as his first crash and all of a sudden Herlings was leading again!

Cairoli’s bike looked to be damaged and he was holding his hand after the moto, fingers crossed he’s okay and it’s nothing serious.

Romain Febvre had a good day to edge out Tim Gajser for the last step on the podium which will please the French rider.

The championship chase stays at 12 points after Herlings wins in Indonesia.
