Guadagnini on “playing” with Benistant
Mattia Guadagnini has reacted after clearly playing mind games with Thibault Benistant at the penultimate round of the EMX250 championship. The Italian held the lead but was slowing the pace right down and tried to get under Benistant’s skin but didn’t attempt anything dirty.
“For some of you now I am the “bad guy”. I want to explain to you a few things. I’m not the first to ride like that and I’m sorry for my mistake, but I’m also a professional rider and when I go to the race I go for win. Yesterday I was a bit faster so I “play” with him to put him under pressure, maybe too much but I never touched him or made something dangerous. He also did it few times and it’s normal. So, I’m really sorry for what I did and I will learn from that, but I also saw worse things in this sport #liveandlearn. Congrats @thibaultbenistant198 for the title💪🏼 see you soon”, Guadagnini stated on social media.
Benistant responded, “We both were fighting for the tittle, I prefer to race for this. But thanks for your excuses (apologies), we are still young”.
