It’s been well over a year since young Belgian talent, Cyril Genot has contested a round of the EMX250 Championship but he will make his return to the series this weekend in Latvia.
Genot decided to race a 350cc machine last year with the Falcon KTM team and concentrated on the ADAC MX Masters as well as his studies in school. However, Genot made the decision to contest the competitive EMX250 round this season again as a privateer – the Genot Racing Team and on KTM machinery.
However, as Genot was preparing for the first round of the series in Spain, disaster struck as he broke his collarbone. The young Belgian has been back on the bike for approximately a month and made a return to racing at round three of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at the weekend.
Despite the lack of bike time, Genot had a good weekend in Mill as he battled and beat some of the top EMX250 riders to earn an eighth overall.
It will be nice to see Genot back in the GP paddock again and he’ll be looking for some good results in the EMX250 Championship as the series progresses.
