Gate drop issues in France
The seventh round of the MXGP World Championship has just took place in France at Saint Jean d’Angely.
There looked to be a gate drop issue with the gates not dropped at exactly the same time for each and every rider. Stephen Rubini and Antonio Cairoli were victims from hitting the start gate.
Did they just go too early and hit the gate or did the gate drop at a different speed? For those two examples it remains to be seen but they weren’t the only victims from the problem this weekend.
Ivo Monticelli wasn’t happy that his gate dropped slower than the rest of the riders. “Really disappointed with this race. The gates fell in a different way and I think that this could not happen a world championship race”, the Italian commented.
The WZ KTM Racing team also posted a message on social media that the same thing happened Karlis Sabulis.
“Not our weekend at the MXGP of France. Mad about the gate dropping. Unfortunately the gate was dropping all weekend long different, what makes the races for @simon_516 and @karlis_sabulis very bad. But we are not the only ones who struggled with the gate. Hope @mxgp find a way for it”.
Moving forward hopefully MXGP who are very professional can find a way for this never to happen again.
