Gabriel Insulation MX step things up for 2020

With over 40 years experience in the industry the team behind Gabriel Motocross are stepping things up a gear. Finding, establishing and growing the best motocross riders in the country, to see the Gabriel Motocross team compete at the biggest events in 2020. The team will also make the switch from Yamaha to KTM machinery.

From the MXGP at Matterley Basin to Valkenswaard, Holland our riders will be seen and very much heard at over 25 events next year. We are ready to make a noise and create a scene with arguably the biggest talent UK British Motocross has seen.

Riders:

John Adamson 

John has hit the ground running with an outstanding result at the 2019 British Championships finishing 10th. Competing in Ireland at Desertmartin finishing 4th overall and a top 10 finish at the EMX250 series in Lommel. This dedicated, gifted rider is set to make an impression during the 2020 season. From the minute Gabriel Motocross Founder Simon saw him ride he knew that he found a rider to join Team Gabriel! 

Age: 23

Started Motocross: 6 years old 

Why you love the sport: An escape from day to day life. You can completely loose yourself on the bike. 

Dream Bike: Gabriel Insulation KTM (of course!) 

Competition Highlight to date: EMX250 at Lommel. 

Biggest Inspiration: Ken Roczen 

Why Gabriel Motocross: They offered me a chance at a full time ride and have put everything in place for me to get the best results possible next year. 

What’s to come for 2020: Our main championship will be the ACU British Motocross Champs. We will also be doing selected EMX open rounds and two MXGP rounds. 2020 is going to be epic and the training has stepped up a gear to get the whole team ready for our best ever season. 

Liam Knight 

Liam is a proven race winner at British Championship level, stepping up from the MX2 into the MX1, Liam can handle anything thrown at him and we can’t wait to watch this Top 6 rider replicate his success in this new category. At just 23 years old Liam is on the path to big things. With the passion and love of the sport running through his core. 

Age: 23 

Started Motocross: 4 years old 

Why you love the sport: There is no other sport that can give you the same buzz, there’s nothing like racing. 

Dream Bike: KTM SXF450 

Competition Highlight to date: My first MX2 Maxxis British championship moto 1 win at Blaxhall Pits, and my first MX2 Maxxis British championship podium with a 2nd overall at Hawkstone Park. 

Biggest Inspiration: Ken Roczen 

Why Gabriel Motocross: Simon and all of Team Gabriel have got some really good plans and ideas for next year that will help me improve my riding for sure and hopefully with that bring some great results for everyone. 

What’s to come for 2020: It will be my first year in the MX1 class on a 450 KTM, I’ve been riding one a little this year and hoping that after a solid winter training and testing with the team we will have a good year and hope to be at the sharpe end of the MX1 British championship.

Michael Ellis

We are thrilled to have Michael part of Team Gabriel for the 2020 season. Consistently performing top of his categories we know that next year will see some bigger and better finishes from this talented and ambitious rider. 

Age: 20 

Started Motocross: 6 years old 

Why you love the sport: Because it is a fun way to keep fit. I love getting the results, this motivates me to improve more and more. 

Dream Bike: KTM 

Competition Highlight to date: Winning MXY2 MX nationals and Pirelli Masters in 2016 and 3rd in MX2 Pro MX Nationals 2019. 

Biggest Inspiration: Jeffrey Herlings 

Why Gabriel Motocross: Simon is so passionate about the sport and makes it feel like a family team. 

What’s to come for 2020: Looking to get consistent top 6 in the British Championship and podiums at the MX Nationals. 

Josh Peters 

At 17 years, and with motor sport firmly running through his blood (from Dad, a World class sidecar rider), Josh is preparing for the biggest season of his riding to date. Josh spent 2019 in the MXY2 Championship finishing Top 5. This year moving up to the MX2 class and will be a regular point scorer all season if this dedication continues. 

Age: 17 

Started Motocross: 12 years old 

Why you love the sport: Pure Adrenaline buzz, just me and my bike versus the track! 

Dream Bike: Jorge Prado’s KTM Red Bull 250 

Competition Highlight to date: British & National BMX Champion, European BMX Race Winner prior to moving into MX, Runner up GT Cup 85cc, British Youth Runner up 85cc & Team GB Youth of nations runner 

Biggest Inspiration: Jorge Prado 

Why Gabriel Motocross: Gabriel MX have given me the opportunity to improve my riding with providing a solid base at home and abroad with a great team of people behind me & Top Team manager Simon Gabriel supporting me to have more bike time. 

What’s to come for 2020: Move up to Pro MX2 British Championship hoping to score points and improve throughout the year at all competitions. Hoping to be a great asset to Gabriel Motocross and make the whole team proud.
