Ferrandis heads Marseille supercross field this October!

PR- Marseille will meet on October 12th and 13th its first ever International Supercross in the Sport Palais, an event that aims to become one of the main European one.

It’s not the first time that Marseille will host a Supercross, but this event had up and down through the years and wasn’t anymore what fans, riders and medias could expect. Jean Jacques Luisetti and Loic Marey, two well-known men in motorsport, joined forces to launch a new International project with the support of M.Argy director of the Sport Palais and the media group ‘La Provence’.

On a track designed and built by Loic Marey, Dylan Ferrandis will do his comeback in Europe two years after moving in the USA; winner of several Grand Prix when he was part of the team KRT built by Jean Jacques Luisetti, Dylan was the first rider to sign his contract for this race and the native of Avignon is the best possible ambassador for this event as everyone knows how talented and popular he is! Some other riders such as Brian Hsu, Petar Petrov, Stephen Rubini or Greg Aranda are already confirmed while the promoters start talking with many French and International riders. There will be three classes involved in the SX: 85cc, 125/SX2 and SX1.

Born in Marseille Jean Jacques Luisetti has always been deeply involved in the life of the city, and he is the man who launch this new project with Loic Marey. “Motorcycling has always been my passion, and since a while I was disappointed to see that the Supercross was not what such a big city could expect. I know so many people here but also in the paddocks that I put now in this event the same energy and knowledge that I did when I create Floride Moto or my team, and there was a good feedback from many actors when I start talking about this Supercross project that we’ll organize together with a motorcycle exhibition,” explained Jean Jacques who was involved during many years in his dealer shop but also in the KRT MX2 team. “We have a strong partner behind us with the media group ‘La Provence’ who will do a strong promotion of the race, and will also be our partner to organize the ’96 hours of Motorcycles’ an exhibition of 1300 square meters where many dealers will show the last products of the main manufacturers.”

Co organizer of the event, Loic Marey will be in charge of the sport’s part, including of course the track design. Well known after building the training track of riders such as Christophe Pourcel, Ricky Carmichael or Brian Deegan, but also designer of many SX tracks in France, Loic know perfectly the sport Palais of Marseille as he was in charge of the track during the past seasons. “I will use my experience to build a nice track, and we already know what we’ll make it spectacular and safe for the riders. We’ll built the track inside and outside the stadium like it was in Paris Bercy, as the riders will disappear during a few seconds when they will go under the stadium,” he revealed during a press conference organised last weekend at the French Motocross Grand Prix. The event will also include, of course, a Free Style show.
