Young Irish rider, Ryan Mawhinney will be heading to the Junior World Championship taking place in Australia later in the year. The event is set to take place at Horsham in Victoria on 26 August. It’s an exciting opportunity for the Hitachi KTM UK rider.

As Ireland don’t send a team to the Junior World Championship, Mawhinney will be contesting in the 85cc class for team GB instead. It makes perfect sense as he’s been a front runner in the 85cc class over in England this year so he’s a good selection.

It’ll be a great opportunity for Mawhinney to race against the best 85cc riders in the world. We are still waiting on other federations to pick their teams but the Netherlands are sending a talented trio of Kay Karssemakers, Kay de Wolf and Dave Kooiker to give you an idea of what Mawhinney will be up against.
