Ducati confirm Dovizioso’s injury
Ducati have confirmed that Andrea Dovizioso has a collarbone injury after crashing at the Italian Regional Motocross Championship at Faenza. Despite not being required, Dovizioso will undergo an operation in order to be ready for a return to MotoGP racing on the 19th of July.
Dovizioso has already stated in the past that he’s interested in racing Motocross when he decides his time in the MotoGP paddock is up but after getting injured today, it’ll be interesting to see if he’ll change his plans for the futre.
“BREAKING NEWS: After suffering a crash during a motocross race today in Faenza, Andrea Dovizioso has sustained a left collarbone injury. Despite not being strictly necessary, the Ducati rider has decided, after consultation with Prof. Porcellini, to proceed with surgery this evening in Modena, in order to speed up his shoulder recovery and be fit in time for the first race of the 2020 MotoGP season on 19th July at Circuito de Jerez”, Ducati stated on social media.
