“It was just the perfect race, I had no pressure the last couple of laps which made it even better. It was just the perfect day for me. I’m over the moon with today”.

Moto Two: DNF

Overall: 13th

“My weekend started of amazing with a 6th in qualification and to bust out a 5th in moto 1 was great but a mechanical issue forced me to DNF in moto 2 spoiling my overall position. I worked hard the past few weeks up in Magilligan MX Park on the rough track getting a more comfortable setting for me and done a lot of changes since hawkstone park and it all paid of in my riding this weekend. I am just going to keep the ball rolling now for the next few weeks and continue what I’m doing and work up into the top 5 consistently. I always knew I had the speed this year but some set backs made me have a slow start to the season.

A big thanks to my sponsors Ccm racing, Metcon, Corcoran chemicals, Spence Racing, Shift, Pod knee braces, Jim Jone Plant Hire, Pro green mx, Vrooam, Racetech, Blackbird, Magilligan Moto Park, Risk-racing Europe, West park fitness, EP Mooney, Energise therapy clinic, TMC Moto X, Balbriggan service centre, Caffrey international transport, Morson Photography and Flow family clothing. Its not possible without all their help!!”

“It was a brilliant weekend at Desertmartin. I really enjoyed the races, it was great to get out and mix it with some faster riders. The heat and the rough track was a real test but I enjoyed every minute of it. At this point of last year I was pulling out of Irish championship races with brutal arm pump after ten minutes so the fact I was able to finish both 25minutes +2 lap races is something I’m really happy with.

I would like to say well done to the club on an excellent event and a top class track as always. Also, a big thanks to those who help me out.”

“The weekend was brilliant, I really enjoyed myself. The track was brilliant and got technical pretty quick. I can’t thank everyone enough who helped me out over the weekend. I would definitely do it again, now I am looking forward to the rest of the year”

“The crowd was brilliant and Billy and all the crew did a fantastic job with the track. My Buildbase Honda was great, I would have liked to have went 1-1 but I’m happy to go 1-2 and still get the overall.”

“I had a really good weekend. I was able to score my first maxxis points which I was really happy with. It was the best ride of my career in that first race being able to keep some big names behind me for a while was a pretty good feeling! Now I know I can run with the best of them, I just need to work on a few things and hopefully I will be in the mix by the end of the year”.

“A lot of mixed emotions, after qualifying so good and having bad luck in both races with my back brake going on the third lap of race one I tried my best to hang on but it just became too much. In race two I came up a little short on the triple and broke my foot peg and got a huck a buck back out of the seat! I am really happy that we have made a massive step in the right direction but gutted that I unfortunately couldn’t get two good results out of it which I feel I really could have done! A big shout out to Billy and the team – the track was mega and nice to see mother nature being on their side for once.”

James Mackrel:

Moto One: DNF

Moto Two: DNF

“Desertmartin didn’t go to plan, in race one I caught my foot in a rut and damaged my ligaments in my ankle so had to pull in, the pain was too sore. In race twoI  had a turn two crash after a good start, I hurt my back and was stuck under the bike but I got back up and fell again concussing myself. It’s not the weekend I planned for but is it how it is. I will regroup and move on for the next round!”

David Robson

Moto One: 7th

Moto Two: 7th

Overall: 6th

“It was a great weekend for me at Desertmartin for the Maxxis British Championship. Due to how much sand was drawn in, the track got rough so quickly, so I knew I had to put in a quick lap in order to get a good gate pick. I qualified 7th which put me in a good position for the races. In moto 1 I had a brilliant start with a holeshot which I knew was key for the race so that there was a clear track ahead of me, around the halfway point I had dropped to around 5th then I tired and finished in 7th.

In moto 2 I had a mid pack start so there was a lot of work to do, I pushed hard in the first few laps and moved up into around 9th and battled hard with the riders ahead to eventually finish in 7th again which gave me 6th overall. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all my sponsors, all the people cheering me on, Russells motorcycles and a special thanks to Graham Ross for his continued support and work on my bike, Herbert Warnock and family for the camper and spare bike and most importantly my Mum and Dad for everything they do.”

Dylan Stynes

Moto One: 9th

Moto Two: 9th

Overall: 8th

“It was an okay day for me at Desertmartin. 9-9 scorecard for 8th overall. I made it extremely hard work for myself in both races coming from the very back of the pack. My bike was working brilliantly all day it never missed a beat. A big thank you to everyone that helps me out, CCM Racing, CCR, Corcoran Chemicals, Metcon, TM UK, TMC MotoX, Fox Head Europe, Macho Martial Arts, Electraction, Jimmy Jones Plant Hire, Swords Motor Factors, Vrooam, ReTink Graphics, Spence Racing, Renthal, Ryno Power, SEC. I’m looking for more at these final two rounds for sure.”

“I had a very disappointing day on Sunday, it started of with a bad qualifying as I didn’t get a clean lap in but I knew once I got the start in the race I’d be fine. I got a decent start and was feeling comfortable but unfortunately on the second lap another rider jumped across me on the take off of a jump and I hit the ground very hard. I’m absolutely gutted as a lot of people including myself has put so much hard work into getting here so I feel like I’ve let them down. Luckily enough I’ve no serious injuries so I’ll rest up for a few days and come back once again!”
