Damon Graulus to MXGP!

Friday, June 3, 2016 — Belgium’s Damon Graulus is set to change classes. From the GP of France on Graulus will join 24MX Lucas Oil Honda riding the CRF450R.

Graulus will line up alongside his colleague replacement rider Priit Rätsep, who made his MXGP debut last weekend in Talavera de la Reina, Spain. The 21-year old Belgian is the reigning Dutch MX2 champion and came runner-up to Nick Kouwenberg in last year’s EMX250 series. Coming up through the ranks Damon made a name for himself with his smooth style and bike control. He spend most of his formative years in France where he recorded strong results in the smaller capacity classes and took the MX2 title in 2014.

Damon Graulus: “At this point in my career I feel that the switch to the 450 bike is the best choice for me. Riding the CRF450R allows me to make the most of my skills and gives me the best possibilities to develop. I’m looking forward to work with the team and with Ken (De Dycker), who will be coaching me. Thanks to everyone at 24MX Lucas Oil Honda and all my fans for their continued support.”

Patriek Heydens, team manager 24MX Lucas Oil Honda: “Finding a suitable replacement rider is never easy, so we’re happy to welcome Damon Graulus. The level in MXGP has never been higher, and this is the case for all aspects of the sport from riding over fitness and technology. However we think that Damon has a good potential on the 450.”
